Meet Steve French – Director and Co-Founder
Steve is the founder of KidzQuest and the driving force behind much of the fun, energy and enthusiasm that makes camp such a memorable experience. A father of three, Housemaster and Teacher of English at King Edward's School, Witley, he has spent more than 20 years working with children in schools, boarding houses and holiday camps.
Having successfully led activity camps for well over a decade, Steve understands what children love about their school holidays: exciting activities, great friendships, a sense of belonging and plenty of opportunities to try something new. He is passionate about creating an environment where every child feels welcomed, valued and encouraged to get involved.
Whether he's leading a giant team challenge, appearing in an outrageous costume, picking up a guitar for a camp singalong or launching one of KidzQuest's trademark silly games, Steve brings warmth, humour and boundless enthusiasm to every day. His aim is simple: to ensure every child leaves camp with happy memories, growing confidence and a genuine excitement to come back again.
At the heart of everything Steve does is a belief that children thrive when they feel safe, included and inspired. That's the spirit he works hard to bring to KidzQuest every single day.
Meet Laura French: Senior Instuctor, Head of Creative Arts and Co-Founder
Laura is one of the creative forces behind KidzQuest, bringing warmth, energy and plenty of sparkle to camp life. A mum of three and an experienced teacher, she has spent nearly 20 years working with children across the UK and internationally, from classrooms and school productions to activity camps and performance spaces.
As Head of Dance at Cranleigh School, Laura knows how to help young people grow in confidence, express themselves and enjoy being part of something special. At KidzQuest, she brings that same creativity and encouragement to every day, whether she is leading a dance session, inventing a silly game or helping a child take part in something they did not think they could do.
Laura loves seeing children step out of their comfort zones, make friends and discover just how much they are capable of. With her infectious enthusiasm, kindness and creative spark, she helps make KidzQuest a place full of laughter, movement and unforgettable moments.
Meet Abdul Zafar – Site Lead and Instructor
Abdul is the kind of person who brings energy, warmth and positivity to every part of camp. As a Senior Instructor at KidzQuest, he has a brilliant way with children of all ages, helping them feel included, encouraged and ready to get involved.
By day, Abdul works at King Edward’s School, Witley, supporting and inspiring young people. At KidzQuest, he brings that same calm confidence and natural enthusiasm to everything he does, whether he is leading a football match, running a cricket session or joining in with one of our many team games.
Children connect with Abdul quickly because he is fun, approachable and quietly reassuring. With his infectious smile, steady presence and genuine love of working with young people, Abdul is a hugely valued part of the KidzQuest team.
